Dew point is the temperature when the moisture in the air begins to condense. Forecasters use the dew point temperature to predict the likelihood for heavy rain, snow, and severe weather. Dew point is figured out by the temperature of the outside air and how much water it can hold Water vapor molecules always move, but how fast they move depends on the temperature. Warm air speeds them up, while cooler air slows them down. When molecules slow down, they get closer together. |
